Job Description:
Summary:
The AU Career Center is recruiting students from diverse backgrounds to serve as Career Ambassadors for the 2024-2025 academic year. Career Ambassadors (CAs) receive training to promote Career Center services and resources and to support Career Center events and marketing and outreach efforts. Why be a Career Ambassador? You will:
  • Gain expertise in career exploration and the job and internship search process
  • Sharpen skills in public speaking, networking, and collaboration
  • Network with Career Center staff, advisors, other AU faculty, staff, and campus partners, as well as employers
  • Gain experience in event planning, social media, marketing, and customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Comprehensive training is provided)
  • Conduct short, 5–10-minute, classroom presentations to promote Career Center services.
  • Write content for Career Center weekly and monthly newsletters and email campaigns.
  • Plan and develop social media content to promote Career Center services and events.
  • Attend and assist with job and internship fairs, networking receptions, and other in person or virtual events including:
    • Set-up and presenter support (for example, managing panelists in Zoom webinar).
    • Event check-in and attendance taking.
Time Commitment:
  • 5-8 hours per week, following an agreed-upon schedule
  • Attend weekly CA team meetings/training throughout the fall and spring semesters
  • Assist at Career Center events for 1 to 3 hours, 5-8 times per semester
Hourly Wage:
  • $17.50-$17.60/hour.
Required Qualifications:
  • The incumbent must be a current or enrolled AU student.
  • Strong work ethic, customer service skills, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to ask for assistance when needed, and a receptive attitude toward constructive feedback.
  • Flexibility to adapt to team needs in the moment.

  • This position is for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, with a strong possibility of renewing for future semesters.
