JOB TITLE: WFA Van Driver

REPORTS TO: Deputy Program Integrationist

SUPERVISES: N/A

FLSA Classification: Contract

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an individual with experience driving a 15-passenger bus to transport county families safely. This is the perfect job for someone looking for part-time work and who loves helping others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transports passengers using the company provided vehicle.

• Completes all necessary documentation regarding accident reporting and emergency assistance.

• Maintains safe working conditions by complying with DOT regulations and safe driver/passenger safety rules.

• Prepares vehicle by completing operator inspections; reporting required repairs.

• Completes reports by entering final passenger lists; filling out time sheets; writing incident or accident reports.

• Organizes work by picking up list of passenger names, cell phone and van.

• Helps passengers by aiding people with disabilities, reporting accidents; calling for assistance.

• Provides passenger comfort by regulating heating, ventilation, and lighting systems, maintaining desired passenger conduct.

• Maintains safe conditions by complying with traffic regulations; observing traffic conditions; avoiding dangerous situations; enforcing passenger safety rules.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and REQUIREMENTS:

■ Possess a valid driver's license with a good (insurable) driving record.

■ Assertive, self-confident, and sensitive in working with diverse individuals.

■ Ability and willingness to transport families in or around the county.

■ Must be able to pass a background check and a Child Protective Services background check.

■ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment expected are typical of those in a transportation setting; however, additional functions may be required to meet the needs of our clients. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.28 per hour
