The Assistant Coach provides assistance with all aspects of an NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball program including coaching, training, recruitment, summer camps and retention of student athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for student athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Assists with team schedule and coordination thereof and leads practices and training sessions.
- Primary time commitment and responsibilities occur in-season, however, may assist with recruiting and other off-season activities as available and at the discretion of the Head Coach.
- Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of summer camps related to the program.
- Assist with recruiting, practice and match preparation, team meetings, team fundraising activities, scouting and film breakdown, team travel and logistics and academic monitoring.
- Develop and maintain good communication with team, department, and campus members and must utilize effective motivational strategies.
Requirements/Qualificatins:
- Knowledge of NCAA and AMCC rules and regulations.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer).
- Strong communication and organization skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and recruits is a must.
- Ability to motivate and lead student athletes individually as well as in a team setting required.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and some holidays.
- Travel and occasional overnight stays expected for games and recruiting.
Term: 6/1/2024 - 5/31/2025
Compensation: $4,000 - $5,500 stipend
