Are you passionate about creating a safe and enriching environment for children? Capitol Language Services (CLS) is seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to join our team for SY 2024-2025. As a Program Coordinator, you will be the face of CLS at our assigned school, responsible for upholding our mission, vision, and policies while ensuring the smooth operation of our after-school program.
Note that this position begins August 26 with 2 half-day compulsory trainings between August 19-August 23.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent CLS and effectively communicate our mission, vision, and policies to staff, parents, and students.
- Serve as the liaison between on-site staff and the CLS office team, ensuring seamless communication and operations.
- Supervise daily program activities, ensuring teachers have necessary supplies and parents have a point of contact for concerns.
- Maintain accurate rosters and ensure all children are accounted for during program hours.
- Address behavioral issues and support teachers in classroom activities as needed.
- Immediately report any staff misconduct, child safety concerns, or emergencies to the CLS office team.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain program materials and equipment daily, ensuring organization and functionality.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including allergy management and first aid procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding child absences, incidents, and behavioral concerns.
- Complete daily reports and incident documentation accurately and promptly.
- Support program setup and cleanup routines to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
- AA degree in education or related required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least one year’s experience in childcare, education, or program coordination.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Proficiency in using tablets and technology for program operations.
Good references from previous employers.
- Must be willing to undergo a DCPS background check.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 2:15 PM to 6:15 PM.
Location:
- Assigned to a school site in Washington, DC with occasional travel to the CLS office as needed.
