Job Description
WORK SCHEDULE:
XJ6
Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree preferred; High School Diploma accepted.
Experience and/or coursework in the areas of visually impaired and multi-handicapped.
Able to assist students in all areas of self-care including the ability to lift and reposition students frequently.
Must adhere to the regulations and receive at least 20 hours of paid in-service training per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist adults in activities of daily living such as self-care, eating, hygiene, toileting, positioning, including the wearing of splints and using adaptive equipment, etc.
To assist instructor in routine activities of the classroom including programming and data collection while ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the adults.
To provide consistency as necessary to run activities and programs.
To lift, position, and handle feeding and self-care skills for adults as directed.
To have the ability to accept direction and supervision with respect to programs and alternate duties as deemed necessary by management, i.e., assisting with classroom coverage for our school-age population.
Maintain a positive work environment with staff and participants.
Assist with program area care such as disinfecting surfaces, re-stocking program supplies, cleaning participants dietary supplies.
Complete required training throughout the year.
